Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of caring, concerned adults from the community. Together they provide direction and leadership to the ministry of  Denver Area Youth For Christ.

Meet our Board:

Dr. Graefe and her husband, Kevin, have been married for 28 years and have two adult children. Beth and Kevin’s boys were involved in Campus Life, where they were introduced to Youth For Christ and the goal to raise lifelong followers of Jesus. The family is active at Southeast Christian in Parker, CO as well as the local Chaparral High School Youth For Christ Campus Life team.

Beth was born in Athens, Georgia but raised in Colorado. For the past 18 years, Beth has held various health care executive positions with Vizient Inc., a health care performance improvement company. In addition to earning her doctoral degree in Education, Beth was an adjunct professor with Troy University’s Executive MBA program teaching in the United States and internationally. Beth also served in the United States Air Force Reserves and Colorado Air National Guard as Medical Service Corps Officer.

The Graefes are avid fitness and sports fans particularly in lacrosse and volleyball.

He has been married to his wife, Carrie, for 32 years.  They have three grown children, all married, and have four grandkids.

Guy was a “Campus Life Kid” in high school in San Diego. After graduating from college, he went in to health care administration. In 1993 he and his family moved to Oregon where he continued his work in healthcare. YFC came back into Guy’s life when the local chapter asked him to come on staff. Guy joined the staff of Lane County YFC in Eugene, Oregon and served as a club director, ministry director and eventually, the Executive Director. He held that position for six years before being asked to come to Denver to work at the YFC national office to oversee Project Serve, the mission ministry of YFC, connecting stateside chapters with YFCI ministries all over the world.

In 2015 Guy left YFC to become the Missions and Outreach Pastor at Crossroads Community Church in Parker.

Keith Taylor - Secretary

Keith was born in Newburgh, New York in the mid 60s.  His family moved to Colorado in the early 70s.  Keith joined the US Army in 1983 and served for 12 years until God blessed him with two children, Alisha the oldest, and Justin, the younger son.

Keith was ordained and licensed as a minister in December 2001 and has served under several ministries but has always felt a calling to minister to youth.  In 1998 Keith joined Denver Area Youth For Christ working in the Juvenile Justice Ministry until 2018.  He joined the Board of Directors of Denver Area YFC in 2020.

Blake Crawford

Blake was raised in Kansas City (that makes him a huge Chiefs fan!) and graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City where he also played basketball for 4 years. After finishing playing college basketball, he took part in a mission trip to Europe with a Christian-based basketball team. The team traveled around Amsterdam and Spain playing exhibition basketball games and running youth camps focused toward troubled youth. During this trip they discipled at youth centers, youth prisons, community centers, etc. More recently, Blake has been coaching youth basketball for the past 5 years throughout the South Denver youth basketball programs. Sports have always played a huge part in Blake’s life as both his parents played college sports, his father went on to play major league baseball, and his brother played basketball for the University of Colorado and overseas. You can still find Blake playing in multiple recreational leagues around town - probably too many.

Blake is now a Commercial Insurance Broker for AssuredPartners. Blake is married to his lovely wife Kaitlin. They have 2 polar opposite dogs, Barkley (an English Bulldog) and Khilles (a Husky). Blake and his wife helped start and now run the Student Youth Group for their local church. They love to travel as much as possible and experience the amazing world God created.

Sumi Flanagan

A chance meeting and an invitation to volunteer at an all-night lock-in for YFC changed the trajectory of Sumi’s life. On her way to a career in medicine, she fell in love with working with high schoolers at the all-nighter and sensed a significant calling to work with young people that remains strong to this day.

Starting in Columbus, Ohio with a newly established Youth for Christ chapter, she began her ministry in Campus Life at an inner-city school. An invitation to join the YFC/USA National Service Center in Colorado followed. It was an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that organized, designed, and produced a conference for thousands of teenagers on student evangelism. Over the years, she has had many other opportunities God has opened up for her to serve families and love kids.

She now serves with YFC International. She has a deep passion for kids globally and the different challenges they face in their varied cultures and countries. She counts it such a blessing to be able to serve our global YFC International staff in honoring, networking, and gathering our YFC family as the General Assembly Director, as well as, overseeing the development of policies & procedures for our Sensitive Nations around the world.

After serving 35 years with Youth for Christ, she remains passionate about YFC’s mission, supporting our staff around the world, student and staff development, and connecting kids with Jesus. We are delighted to now also have her a part of our local Denver Area chapter serving on our Board of Directors.
