We continue to go the distance for Denver’s teens … JOIN US!  Virtual 5K means you can run, walk or bike (or get extra creative!) from wherever you are.  Whatever you want, whenever you want, and wherever you want just Do It With A Purpose on behalf of Denver Area Youth For Christ!

We seek to continue to equip, encourage, and empower our young people. We go where teens are and creatively connect with them at pivotal moments. Donate and/or participate in Denver Area Youth For Christ's Virtual 5K to help ministry continue this year!

It's as easy as...

1. Register to run/walk (please register by 10am on February 17th to receive your gear)

2. Help us raise funds

3. Share with your friends

Help us reach our goal of $20,000

If you have any questions, please contact Jackie Churchill,

What is a Virtual 5k?
Virtual 5k means that you can run (or walk or bike or ski or any other creative idea!) from wherever you are - at your own pace from your own place!

It’s Virtual, so You Choose!  Whatever you want, whenever you want, and wherever you want just Do It With A Purpose on behalf of Denver Area Youth For Christ!  Inside or outside. In-state or out-of-state.  Anytime over the February holiday weekend, get a move on!

What is the registration cost?
There is a $20/participant registration fee  (includes the DAYFC participant gear, custom 2022 race bib, bottled water, snack bar, and hand sanitizer for all local participants - note: only participant gear for those that need to be mailed) .

We do ask that you consider fundraising for, or making an additional donation to, Denver Area Youth For Christ. Donate or set up a fundraising page here

When/How will I get my gear?

For Denver-based participants, we will have drive-thru Packet Pick-up on Thursday, February 17, 10 am – 4 pm. You’ll get a number (a.k.a. runner’s bib), the gift, bottled water or gatorade, snack bar, hand sanitizer.
For out-of-state participants, if you are registered by Monday, February 7, participant gear will be mailed out that week. If you registered after February 14, your participant gear will be mailed on a rolling basis and we cannot guarantee you will receive it by Virtual 5K Weekend.
IMPORTANT: We can only ship within the United States.

If you have any questions or are unavailable for packet pick-up on Thursday, please contact Jackie Churchill,

How do I participate on race day/weekend?
Wear your new YFC participant gear (great new socks!) and any other YFC (Campus Life / City Life / JJM / Parent Life) swag!
Take a short 5-15 second video of you completing the 5k.
Upload your video (and any photos you take!) to social media and use the hashtag #DAYFCVirtual5k and mention @yfcdenver. Please also consider emailing your photos and videos to so we can use them for future promotional materials!
If you are not registered to run/walk/bike, you can still participate by donating to the fundraiser and cheering participants on via social media.

Can I walk or bike in the 5k instead of run?
Absolutely! Run, walk, ride bike, stair climb, treadmill, little trampoline, Peloton, pogo stick, local high school’s track, run the bases on a baseball diamond, stroll thru local park, walking thru your neighborhood, ski, skateboard, roller skate, rollerblade, swim, snowshoe, cross-country ski, jump rope, drive 15 times around Boondock’s go kart track, drive 30 times thru a Chick-fil-A drive-thru, 11 holes of golf (18-holes of golf is about 5 miles = 8K) … the possibilities are endless!!!

Can I choose to go a different distance?
Yes! Do what you are able. If you can do more great (go further if you are biking!).  If you can't go that far, do what you can.  You can even spread it out over the entire weekend, doing a little bit each day.  No fancy tracking equipment necessary.  5K = 3.1 miles (Anything done for an hour usually completes that distance)

Are there any other race day/weekend activities?
Yes. Everything will be via social media. Follow along and cheer on participants.
