Get Involved in the New Year

Posted on by Heidi Brunsting

Many of us make new year resolutions to exercise more, lose weight or start a new discipline. And while these are all great goals, what if we committed to be more involved in the lives and spiritual development of the youth in our community?

Here are some ideas for you to be an agent of change in 2017 through Denver Area Youth for Christ!

  • Volunteer. We’ve got opportunities for everyone! Help with one of our Campus Life clubs, lead a Bible study or join our worship services. Be a part of our ministry into youth correctional facilities through our Juvenile Justice ministry or help out with administrative tasks at our local headquarters.
  • Mentor. Mentoring is one of the most effective tools we have to see a life changed for eternity! Spending time one-on-one with an at-risk teen can set them on a new trajectory and change your life too!
  • Give. Your donation to the ministry of Denver YFC enables us to reach thousands of lost and broken young people on high school and middle school campuses, in juvenile institutions, through teen parent groups and neighborhoods, all over the Denver area, with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ!
  • Pray. Join our prayer support team to keep updated on what’s going well and what our ministries need prayer for in this season.

In 2 Timothy 1:14, we are called to “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” As Christians we have been entrusted with the greatest gift: the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and an eternal relationship with him. We haven’t been called to hide it away but rather to guard it as a treasure and share it with those He loves but who have yet to come to know Him. Your involvement with Denver Area Youth for Christ is an investment of eternal proportions. Won’t you join us in 2017?
