See Me. Hear Me. Know Me. Love Me.

Many students feel as though they don’t quite “fit in” or meet the standards, pressures, and expectations created by society, others, or even themselves.
This is true for Johnathon.
Johnathon is a student who I met early this year, and as I got to know him, he shared this with me:
“Nobody cares about me. Nobody sees me and nobody really knows me or cares about knowing me. I don’t even matter.”
What heart wrenching words. The truth is that a lot of students feel like Johnathon. It is a tough way to journey through daily life.
Recently at club we delved into a series called More To Me. The four-week series covered four topics: See Me, Hear Me, Know Me, Love Me.
I’m not exactly sure where Johnathon is with his faith at this time. What I do know is that he is continually hearing about a God who sees, hears, knows, and loves him.
One of our leaders responded to Johnathon by saying this:
“You may feel like no one sees you, but God does. You may feel like no one cares about you, but God does. Johnathon, YOU matter to God—a lot.”
Johnathon now texts our leaders every week to be sure we are having club—he never misses.
Thank you for being a part of the ongoing conversation with youth in our city and helping us share God’s story. It's our honor to be the storytellers on your behalf who meet kids right where they are and give life to their story.
Providing young people in our community with the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church.
