Summertime

Summer time, how sweet it is!
I greatly enjoy summer time and I know that the middle schoolers do as well with extra free time to do with as they please. With additional free time comes opportunity for more distractions, temptations and possibility of making poor choices. Stephanie recently opened up to me regarding the increase in temptation.
“They invited me over to drink. I wanted to hang out with my friends but I was afraid to drink, so I just didn’t reply. I later heard there were people there that were not okay, I’m glad I didn’t go.”
Stephanie made the right choice but will be presented with similar choices in the future. As it is said in 2 Corinthians 11:14, “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light”. We are all exposed to deception on a daily basis, identifying it is often a challenge. Many of the students want to make the right decision but experience difficulty differentiating between right and almost right. I long for these students to not only know Christ but to identify the true light of Christ in their life. We are humans and will no doubt make mistakes throughout life. By sharing the love of Christ, I pray these students will not give into the daily temptations they are presented with.
Thank you for being a part of the ongoing conversation with youth just like Stephanie in our city and helping us share God’s story. It's our honor to be the storytellers on your behalf who meet kids right where they are and give life to their story.
Providing young people in our community with the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church.
